You and your spouse have been programming them for how they should be with their partner and how you split with your partner. If you have a toxic relationship, your children are very likely to follow in your footsteps. But, you are open to breaking generational cycles for both you and your ex-spouse and learning how to parent your kids differently. You know that the single most effective thing you can do for your child is to display respect, compassion, empathy, and support for the other parent.
